Context

Declared a National Monument in 1978, Barichara preserves streets, churches and houses built with the yellow stone extracted from the region's quarries. The old Camino Real leads for about seven kilometers to Guane and connects the landscape with the memory of the Indigenous people who inhabited this territory. Walking it lets you meet stone carvers, artisans and residents who keep alive an identity built among stone, earth and mountain.
