Who are we?

Impulse Travel is a Colombian DMC founded by Rodrigo Atuesta and Juliana Medina, who started out as guides and decided to build a company after the 2016 Peace Agreement, when they saw the opportunity to show the world a Colombia different from the one that dominated the headlines. Today we are a team of 15 people, 100% remote in different parts of Colombia, that designs tailor-made trips (not standard packages), working directly with Colombian changemakers, chefs, artisans, academics and cultural leaders with whom we have built relationships over years.

What we offer is not conventional luxury, but access: entry to spaces, conversations and people that are not on any public itinerary, sustained by relationships of trust that cannot be improvised or bought. Each trip is put together from scratch according to who is traveling, and the logistics (transfers, timing, unforeseen events) are handled in such a way that the traveler never has to think about them.

We work with demanding travelers who already know the world and are looking for something different from the generic tourist experience: real curiosity about the country, not just about its attractions. We also work B2B, with international agencies and operators who trust us as their bridge in Colombia.

What sets us apart is that we do not sell destinations, we reveal a country: the protagonist of each experience is the local, the changemaker, the host, the chef, not Impulse. We facilitate the encounter; we do not put ourselves at the center of the story. And that relationship with the territory is direct: we work with local suppliers and communities in an ongoing, not transactional, way, which allows us to offer something that cannot be replicated by buying a generic tour.
