Who are we?

SUMMER·GT is an operator of water and nature activities at Embalse La Esmeralda, in Macanal (Boyacá), about 3 hours from Bogotá. We are also the official operator of the activities of Hotel Summer C, which is in the same destination.

What we offer. Our activities are grouped into three families:

Water: e-foil, wakeboarding, kitesurfing, sailing, kayaking, water bikes, motorboat rides and boat tours to the reservoir's waterfalls. Mountain: horseback rides along the rural roads of Macanal. Senses: birdwatching with a local guide.

We operate every day, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bookings are made directly via WhatsApp (+57 311 650 0453) or at summergt.com.

For which traveler. We welcome those who come from Bogotá or the Valle de Tenza for a weekend and want to try a water sport for the first time, with no prior experience needed. We also serve athletes who already practice foil or kite, families who prefer relaxed plans such as a boat ride, kayaking or horseback riding, and guests of Hotel Summer C who put together their whole stay with us.

What sets us apart.

We bring together in one place and under a single operator sports that are almost never offered together at a reservoir in Colombia, such as e-foil and kitesurfing. We work with recognized specialists in each discipline: for example, Cristian Plata in e-foil and Eibar in birdwatching. We are integrated with a hotel in the same destination, so the traveler can sort out lodging and activities without intermediaries. Everything we offer is published with real photos and videos of the place, produced at the reservoir. We don't use stock images.

Relationship with the territory. Our setting is Embalse La Esmeralda, an Andean mountain landscape in the emerald-mining region of Boyacá. We work with guides and people from Macanal, and our activities lead the visitor to travel around the reservoir, its waterfalls and its rural roads instead of staying in a single spot. In this way we bring tourism to an area that is not on Boyacá's traditional routes.
