Who are we?

Green South is a responsible and sustainable tour operator based in Pasto, Nariño, operating in southern Colombia, Nariño, Alto Putumayo and northern Ecuador. We design tailor-made trips and offer professional guiding, bilingual scouts and fixer services for travelers, photographers, production teams and companies that need to operate in the territory with local knowledge. We stand out for offering photography tourism, birding tourism, corporate tourism, wellness tourism, adventure tourism and spiritual tourism, and we provide service in seven languages, Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, Mandarin and Italian, with bilingual guides and scouts who interpret the nature and culture of the place. Our travelers are birdwatchers, nature photographers, independent travelers who want a route made to measure, corporate groups with wellness or team-building agendas, and producers or journalists who require local logistical support.

What sets us apart is, first, that we operate with our own vehicles adapted for tourism, which allows us to control safety, timing and quality of service on every route. Second, we work with lodgings, restaurants and transport providers aligned with our sustainability approach. And third, each itinerary is designed according to the traveler's interest, whether it is a bird species, a photography location or a team goal, and not based on closed packages.

Our relationship with the territory is direct: we include in our routes campesino, Afro-descendant and indigenous communities, who take part as hosts, guides, and providers of food, handicrafts or lodging. Our interest as a company is for tourism income to stay in the territory and energize the local economy, contributing more than 40% of the money to local projects, families and ventures. At the same time, we practice low-impact nature tourism, with small groups, rules for responsible wildlife watching, waste management along the route and good practices in the territories.
