Who are we?

El Almejal is an ecolodge that pioneered ecotourism in the Colombian Pacific, located in El Valle, Bahía Solano, Chocó, where we bring together lodging, nature and experiences of connection with the territory.

We have bungalows of approximately 32 m², designed with bioclimatic criteria and built to blend into the surroundings of jungle and sea. Our offering is aimed at domestic and international travelers, couples, families and people looking to explore the biodiversity of the Pacific, enjoy nature activities and get to know the cultural expressions of the region.

We offer lodging programs from 3 nights, which include full board, ground transfers in Bahía Solano and activities such as responsible whale watching, walks through the Reserva Natural El Almejal and the release of sea turtles, depending on the season and operating conditions. We also offer beach exploration experiences, trips along rivers, waterfalls and visits to the Parque Nacional Natural Ensenada de Utría.

What sets us apart is the combination of a track record of more than four decades in the development of nature tourism, infrastructure integrated into the landscape and an offering that seeks to create a close relationship between the visitor, biodiversity and the communities of the territory. We work with local guides and promote the recognition of the ecosystems, the Afro-Colombian cultural expressions and the natural heritage of the Pacific.

Our operation is geared toward nature tourism that recognizes the particular features of a destination with air connectivity, environmental wealth and a cultural identity of its own. Through our tourism activity, we seek to contribute to the appreciation and conservation of the territory, offering travelers a way to get to know the Colombian Pacific based on respect for its environment and its communities.
