Birds Experience is a Colombian operator specializing in creating private birding and nature trips, designed from scratch around each traveler. Before building a route, we seek to understand who is traveling, which birds or experiences interest them, their level of birdwatching or photography, their pace, the time available and what they want to discover about Colombia. We do not start from a predetermined itinerary: every Birds Experience is born from that conversation.
The experiences are personally designed and guided by Niky & Mauro, photographers, communicators and explorers who have traveled all 32 departments of Colombia and who have decided to run only eight private experiences a year, in order to devote time, knowledge and personal attention to each experience.
We work mainly with birdwatchers, photographers, couples and nature travelers who want to get to know Colombia beyond a list of species. We combine birds and photography with landscapes, coffee, gastronomy, culture, stories and encounters with the people who inhabit and protect the territories.
Our operation is built together with local guides, reserves, lodges, farms, communities and local ventures, seeking to ensure that the value generated by the trip also stays in the places we visit.
Birds Experience is also part of a broader vision together with Birds Colombia – La Voz de las Aves and Guardián de las Aves. While Birds Colombia communicates and inspires around birds, Guardián de las Aves works with children and young people to bring new generations closer to birdwatching, conservation and the opportunities that can arise around nature. Our trips are connected to that purpose: each experience helps strengthen a positive relationship between travelers, communities, birds and territory.
Every traveler is different; that is why every Birds Experience is too. Birds are the starting point for discovering a much bigger Colombia.
